Thyroid

TSH on TRT

What the number means, why it moves on a protocol, and what people usually do about it.

Updated 2026-09-27 · Part of the Magno guides

What it is

Thyroid stimulating hormone is the brain asking the thyroid for more. High TSH means the thyroid is falling behind; low TSH means it is being pushed, or hormone is coming from a pill.

The range

TRT-aware target

0.5 to 2.5 mIU/L

How to read the lab range

Labs quote about 0.4 to 4.5 mIU/L. People feel best under 2.5. Suppressed TSH on T3 or a fat burner is expected.

How Magno reads it

Import the PDF or a photo of the report and Magno finds TSH on it, keeps every test on one line, shows the change since the last one, and reads it against TRT-aware thresholds rather than the lab's generic range. The panel it belongs to, Thyroid, gets a written verdict with the probable causes and what people usually do.

Questions people ask

TSH high on a cut, is my thyroid broken?

Usually not. A big deficit lowers active thyroid hormone and TSH rises to compensate. It settles when calories come back.
